Quiltra-Queleual, 1/20000 scale

Completed today, a Super Dimension Fortress Macross kit by ARII, released in 1982. It was the second model I ever put together by myself. I decided to refurbish it so I took it apart. It was easy to clean up the cheap glue my parents had bought me. I had to replace all of the antenna things and sanded down the front so that it had more of a slope the lower it got like the ships had in the cartoon or “Anime,” as many call it. I also used super glue to make the various bubble module things on the forward sides more organic and stick out more. I used a double base because I plan on modifying the SDF-1 that came with it so that it is in battle mode as opposed to the cruise mode it was cast in. Sadly, I only have found half of its main body and the antenna things that go on the “Shoulders.”

Interesting fact… Ok, not interesting but a fact: I bought this at the same place and time as the Thurvel-Salan kit that was documented before the previous post. The reason I chose to buy this one was because I was under the false impression that it was the class of vessel that Breetai and Exedor used. I was wrong, that’s a Nupetiet-Vergnitzs. :c

Thurvel-Salan and SDF-1, 1/20000 scale

Completed Thursday August 13th, 2009; a Super Dimension Fortress Macross kit by ARII, released in 1982. It was the first model I ever put together by myself. I decided to refurbish it so I took it apart. It was easy to clean up the cheap glue my parents had bought me. I had to replace most of the antenna things and the forward bubble piece. I also added the smaller gun turrets. I had assembled the small SDF-1 prior, so I just removed it from its base and put it on the double base I had used here.

Zentraedi Captain Kamujin Kravshera in his Armored Spacesuit, 1/100 scale

Completed today, built straight from the box 'cept for the transparent face plate on his inner helmet that I added. I had also added transparent "Windows" to his outer helmet/face plate but they prevented the piece from being fully attached to the head. This kit was produced by Imai in 1982 for their Super Dimensional Fortress Macross line.

Kids in the Hall

Hi, my name's Dave Foley, and, uh, something you might not know about me is that .. I have a good attitude towards menstruation. That's right, I'm the guy! The guy with a good attitude towards menstruation!
Oh, I know a lot of men are made uncomfortable by this monthly miracle. But not me. No, I embrace it. Embrace it the way, the way some men embrace the weekend! Why I anticipate it the way a child anticipates Christmas!
Did you know that, uh, in alot of native Indian cultures, menstruating woman were forced to leave the village, less their *powerful* magic should overwhelm the Shaman? If I were Shaman, I wouldn't be so competitive. I'd be more open and giving. I'd be a shaman with... a good attitude towards menstruation!
'Cause after all, what is it? A cluster of blood vessels, awaiting a fertilized egg. Providing a safe warm place for that egg to grow. And if a life does not occur, the whole thing is flushed away, and the cycle begins again. Now is that anything to be ashamed of or disgusted by? No, this is the nesting stuff of humanity!
That's why the woman I shall love will be able to menstruate as fully and freely as she desires. Even if her monthly flow should build in intensity to a raging rust colored torrent! An unbridled river of life giving blood flowing from between her legs! An awesome cataract plunging off the edge of our couch. I wouldn't be fazed! No, no, even if Coureur de Bois would come up stream, battling the rapids, and singing a 'jaunty song'! I would take no offense, rather I would ford across that mighty womanly river, and fetch herbal tea and Pamprin. And then I would mop her brow and admire her fecundity. For I...Have A Good Attitude....Towards MENSTRUATION!
